The Greedy Monkeys

Once upon a time, there were five monkeys who lived in a jungle in North America. They liked to use a pair of blue shoes and a yellow hat. They often came out to dance and sing a song together. All of the monkeys were very smart and joyful. Not far from their house also lived a huntsman who always try to catch the monkeys, but he never succeed.

One day, the monkeys were all dancing in middle of the jungle. They moved their body and jumped around until their yellow hat oscillated. Suddenly, a huntsman came with his big weapon and dashed to catch them.

“Oh, there you are monkeys, now I will catch you all!” said the huntsman loudly. The monkeys stopped dancing. They were run away and separated. They climbed the tree and swung from one tree to another, so the huntsman could not catch them.

“You will never catch us, stupid huntsman!” said the youngest monkey.

The oldest monkey smirked and said, “What a silly huntsman, you are too tardy to catch all of us!”

The huntsman felt angry because he can’t catch the monkeys again and again. So, he decided to go home and try again tomorrow. “Now you still can enjoy your time monkeys! But sooner I will catch you all!” said the huntsmen angrily and he walked away to go home.

In the next morning, the monkeys decided to came out again. They were all playing again in the middle of the jungle. They were singing and laughing together. Suddenly, Daddy monkey smelled something. Then, he asked his wife, “What a good smell, do you smell it honey?”

“Yeah, I can smell it. I think it’s a blueberry, but where is it coming from?” said Daddy monkey’s wife. And then Daddy monkey asked his three children to look for the source of the smell. Soon, the oldest monkey found that the smell was coming from the big cage near the river.

“Daddy, Daddy! Mommy! Come here I found it, I found it!” the oldest monkey cried. Daddy monkey saw many blueberries inside the big cage. When his youngest son want to came closer, he stopped him,”Stop son! We have to be careful, I think it just the huntsman tricks to catch us.”

Then his son said, “But why he puts delicious blueberries inside the cage?” Daddy monkey answered, “I do not know son, but we have not so far been caught by the huntsman because we are smart. So, for this time we have to be more careful!”

Daddy monkey, his wife and his three children were gathered around the cage. They were tempted to try the taste of the blueberries and the youngest monkey already licks his mouth.

“Oh come on stupid huntsman, do you think you can trick us with these blueberries?” said the oldest monkey. Daddy monkey shouted, “Come here huntsman, don’t hide!” but there’s no answered. They still gathered around the cage because they don’t know what to do.

“Daddy, can we taste the blueberries, please?” said the youngest monkey. Without waited for his daddy permission, the three monkeys rushed into the blueberries and eat them. They bitted a small blueberry, but they want to eat more and more. So, they began to eat the blueberries in large quantities and the jumped into the middle of the cage.

“What a delicious blueberry! I love it!” said the oldest monkey. Suddenly, the cage closed and the monkeys were trapped inside the cage. The huntsman came out from his hiding place, he laughed when he saw the panicked monkeys.

“Hahaha! What a dumb and greedy monkeys, finally after all this time I can catch you all!” said the huntsman with his evil smirked. Then the huntsman tied all of the monkeys and brought them into his house.

The monkeys felt sad and they could only blame themselves. They regret it but it’s too late. They were caught by the huntsman because of their greediness.
